Food Truck Park Design & Gas Station Conversion – Raleigh, NC
The Context
The project concerns the conversion of an old gas station in Raleigh, North Carolina. The building is located Star St., New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina.
The new program for its development was made. The client demanded a Food truck park design.
The site offers the ideal location for this program. It is a triangular site with main streets on all three sides and have an accessible location.
The project demands a very energetic, foody, and inviting space.
Starting from the old gas station shell and existing grass to the proposed yellow finish inviting site, the design progressed through below process.

Site Planning

The site was zoned into four major parts:
Parking – Existing Driveway areas
Semi-Open Space Seating – The Existing Canopy is proposed to be converted into seating
Green Space and Pathways – Serves as open seating and informal interaction spaces
Food Trucks Space

The project gives an opportunity to utilize the material that stands up to all weather. We proposed metal and external wood furniture. The seating has a combination of Bench seating, High Bar Seating, seating around a fireplace, and semi-open seating.

The park was required to be inviting and dramatic. They were proposed as the main lifeline for the whole space.
The diagonal painted pattern was proposed so that pathways can become a casual space for interaction among people.

Yellow Diagonal lines, highlighted vehicular entrance, and re-innovated existing Gas Station Canopy.
